MY REVIEW:
The story centers around two very unlike individuals: Dylan, the baseball player and Lucy, the needlepoint enthusiast. Their paths cross and everything in their lives changes. Typically, I relate the the female characters. But I have to say, in this case, Dylan was definitely way more me than I’d like to admit. His laser point focus is very much me and I can understand his struggle to keep focused and not let anything get in the way of his dreams.
Lucy is the opposite. I mean, she has dreams and aspirations, but she’s a lot more free and allows herself to enjoy life. When these two come together, it’s a tug and pull situation and it’s a sweet story. I liked the dynamic between the two and how they both needed each other for different reasons. Kendra has a special way of writing characters who are real and relatable and I love that about her books. I also really enjoyed the family aspect of the story and how personable it was.
If you’re looking for a cute summer read, this book is definitely for you!
